About SPOTT
SPOTT is an application designed for device-level testing of OTT (Over-The-Top) use cases. It enables validation of Dolby Audio and Dolby Video playback and detailed inspection of media capabilities reporting across multiple platforms. SPOTT provides:
- Content Playback: Testing Dolby Audio and Dolby Video using different application integrated players.
- Device & Media Info: Access detailed device information and information about the supported codecs and DRM combinations.
- DRM Configuration: Flexible options for Widevine, PlayReady, and Fairplay.
- Debug Tools: Overlays for playback information and debug troubleshooting.
- Platform: Support for SmartTV platforms such as AndroidTV, FireOS, Samsung TizenOS, LG WebOS, VIDAA, and Web (Windows/macOS).

Installation Instructions
Web Browser
No installation required. Access SPOTT directly at https://spott.ott.dolby.com
Android TV / Fire TV
- Download the APK package. See Artifacts links above
- Install via ADB or upload the APK directly to your device and install it using the file manager.
For a detailed ADB setup, refer to the Android Developer documentation.
Samsung Tizen
- Enable Developer Mode on your TV and obtain the Device UID (DUID).
- Download the WGT package. See Artifacts links above
- Repackage and sign in with your certificate.
- Install on your TV.

LG webOS
- Install webOS CLI Tools.
- Download the IPK package. See Artifacts links above
- Enable Developer Mode on your TV, configure the device connection and install the IPK package. See section "Deploy the web app on a TV device".
Alternatively, use the webOS Studio VSCode Extension for device management.
