About SPOTT

SPOTT is an application designed for device-level testing of OTT (Over-The-Top) use cases. It enables validation of Dolby Audio and Dolby Video playback and detailed inspection of media capabilities reporting across multiple platforms. SPOTT provides:

Installation Instructions

Web Browser

No installation required. Access SPOTT directly at https://spott.ott.dolby.com

Android TV / Fire TV

  1. Download the APK package. See Artifacts links above
  2. Install via ADB or upload the APK directly to your device and install it using the file manager.

For a detailed ADB setup, refer to the Android Developer documentation.

Samsung Tizen

  1. Enable Developer Mode on your TV and obtain the Device UID (DUID).
  2. Download the WGT package. See Artifacts links above
  3. Repackage and sign in with your certificate.
  4. Install on your TV.

LG webOS

  1. Install webOS CLI Tools.
  2. Download the IPK package. See Artifacts links above
  3. Enable Developer Mode on your TV, configure the device connection and install the IPK package. See section "Deploy the web app on a TV device".

Alternatively, use the webOS Studio VSCode Extension for device management.

VIDAA

No package download is required. SPOTT runs as a hosted web application on VIDAA and is deployed directly via the VIDAA devkit.

  1. Enable Developer Mode on your VIDAA TV and register the device using the VIDAA devkit.
  2. Point the device to the hosted web app URL: https://spott.ott.dolby.com.
