To install SPOTT on Samsung Tizen TVs, the TV must be switched to developer mode. Both the TV and the developer PC need to be configured with each other's IP addresses. Each TV can only be connected to a single developer PC. The app must be re-signed using a distributor certificate that contains the TV-specific ID (DUID).
export PATH=$PATH:<TIZEN_STUDIO>/tools/ide/bin/
Replace <TIZEN_STUDIO> with your actual Tizen Studio installation path.
Obtain the Device UID (DUID). You can obtain your TV's DUID using one of these methods:
Create DUID List File (Recommended). Create a text file to maintain a list of DUIDs for managing multiple devices. This makes it easier to create distributor certificates. Format example:
XTCHCXRMXFTLC // TV 1
ABCDEFGHIJKLM // TV 2
Each line contains a DUID. Comments can be added using // to identify individual devices.
Using Tizen Certificate Manager, create a new Samsung Certificate Profile consisting of:
Important: The Distributor Certificate contains the list of devices that SPOTT can be installed on. It must be re-created when devices are added. Using a DUID list file streamlines this process.
For detailed instructions:
.wgt file for your version.tizen package --type wgt --output [destination-directory] -- [path-to-wgt-file]
This creates a new .wgt file signed with your Certificate Profile, allowing installation on your specified devices.
tizen install -n [path-to-signed-wgt-file] --target [tv-name]
The [tv-name] can be found in Device Manager.
