Version 1.0 release notes

Welcome to the first release of the Dolby Vision Browser Test Kit.

This comprehensive release equips developers and content creators with essential documentation and test materials to validate the seamless integration and support of Dolby media technologies, including Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and other Dolby audio.

Support for Dolby media

For video, the kit supports assessing the visual quality of Dolby Vision content across different profiles (5, 8.1, and 8.4) to ensure optimal playback in supported browsers.

For audio, the kit supports testing audio experience with Dolby Atmos and AAC tracks.

Test signals with DRM and non-DRM content

The kit includes both DRM and non-DRM content, offering a robust testing environment for secure playback scenarios and ensuring compatibility across different DRM standards.

Both DRM and non-DRM versions are provided for MPEG‑DASH and HLS streams.

For MPEG‑DASH content, L1 Widevine and PlayReady are used as hardware DRM.

For HLS content, FairPlay is used for DRM.

Online delivery formats

The Dolby Vision Browser Test Kit provides content formatted for online delivery, supporting industry-standard streaming formats such as HLS and MPEG‑DASH.
