An MPEG standard for video compression that improves on the H.264 (AVC) video compression standard and extends support to 10‑bit ultra-high-definition video. The standard was developed jointly by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) and Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG). Also known as H.265, ISO/IEC 23008‑2, and ITU‑T H.265.
